At Expo 2025 Osaka, the EU Pavilion with its theme of ‘Nurturing Tomorrow’, showcases initiatives that bring to life its commitments to sustainability, connectivity, inclusivity, and security.
The EU Pavilion also embodies the deep political, economic, and cultural ties between the EU and Japan, and the strong partnership which works together to promote peace and find solutions to global challenges.
The Facade Design

The EU Pavilion facade is a fusion of East and West - combining the principles of aesthetics, sustainability and inclusion of the New European Bauhaus - with inspiration from Japanese art such as the Japanese Ema plaques and the precision of Origami.
The facade features rotating, petal-like modules made from sustainable bamboo, which move with the breeze, mirroring the graceful motion of Sakura blossoms and bringing to life the Pavilion’s theme of ‘Nurturing Tomorrow’.
Not only a decorative element, the facade is continually evolving throughout the Expo, shifting colours and patterns to reflect different events and themes and inviting you to explore the spirit of co-creation and creativity at the heart of Expo 2025 Osaka.
